Coca-Cola Bangladesh Beverages Ltd (CCBB), one of the two major bottlers of Coca-Cola products in Bangladesh, has been acquired by Turkish beverage giant Coca-Cola Icecek (CCI) for $130 million.
This deal marks CCI’s entry into the promising Bangladeshi market, estimated to be worth Tk 40 billion to Tk 60 billion.
CCBB operates a bottling plant in Bhaluka, Mymensingh, and distributes Coca-Cola brands to over 100 million consumers in four regions.
With over 300 employees, three warehouses, and partnerships with nearly 500 distributors, CCBB holds a dominant 45.3% share of the Bangladeshi soft drink market.
This acquisition expands CCI’s reach to 11 Muslim-majority countries, including Bangladesh, further solidifying its partnership with The Coca-Cola Company.
CCI expects Bangladesh’s growing economy, projected to expand by 6.7% annually until 2028, to drive significant future potential and value creation.
