Summit power’s profits rise

Summit Power Ltd (SPL) has announced a profit of Tk 875.60 million for the October-December quarter of the fiscal year, marking an 8% increase from the previous year.

This surge comes as a positive development for the company, which had recorded a profit of Tk 818.50 million during the same period in the previous financial year.

According to reports filed with the Dhaka Stock Exchange, this rise has led to an increase in the consolidated earnings per share (EPS), reaching Tk 0.82 for the second quarter of 2023-24 compared to Tk 0.76 the year before.

For the first half of the financial year, SPL’s earnings totaled Tk 1826 million, marking a 9% increase from Tk 1676.50  million in the previous year. Consequently, the half-yearly EPS has climbed to Tk 1.71 from Tk 1.57.

SPL operates as a subsidiary of Summit Power International (SPI), a holding company based in Singapore, and currently manages 15 power plants across Bangladesh, boasting a total installed generation capacity of 975.96 MW.
