Starlink, the satellite internet service owned by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, has surpassed 4 million subscribers, according to a recent post by the company on X (formerly Twitter).
The company thanked its users and stated that Starlink provides high-speed internet to over 4 million people across 100+ countries and regions.
Starlink’s growth has been rapid, reaching 1 million subscribers in December 2022, 2 million by September 2023, and 3 million by May 2024. Its global network now consists of nearly 6,000 satellites, providing internet to individual users and enterprises, including airlines and cruise lines.
The service is projected to generate $6.6 billion in revenue this year, a significant rise from the $1.4 billion it earned two years ago. The revenue is expected to help fund SpaceX’s Starship rocket development.
