Shakib Al Hasan, the renowned cricketer and a member of the parliament has collaborated with local sports shoe manufacturer Step Footwear to introduce a new line of shoes in the Bangladesh market.
The launch event took place today at the Amari Dhaka hotel, where Shakib and Shamim Kabir, Step Footwear’s managing director, unveiled the brand ‘SAH75’.
Under the SAH75 brand, a range of sports products including sportswear, activewear, footwear, cricket gear, and accessories will be available.
Shakib, representing the Magura 1 constituency, highlighted that both he and Step Footwear will have equal ownership of the brand. The products will be distributed through 95 Step outlets nationwide.
Shakib emphasized the importance of community feedback in refining the brand’s offerings. Kabir mentioned that while some products will be manufactured domestically, others will be imported to ensure a diverse range.
Shakib, known for his multifaceted interests, mentioned his affinity for both sports and business, which motivated his involvement with Step Footwear and the SAH75 brand.
He urged consumers to prioritize quality over imports versus domestic products, hinting that SAH75’s premium quality might come with a slightly higher price tag.
Step Footwear also specializes in manufacturing travel trolleys and home bags, which are exported to various countries including the USA, India, Thailand, and Europe.
The company operates three factories in Narsingdi, with a focus on producing trolley bags, backpacks, and shoemaking equipment for international clients such as Pierre Cardin and Wildcraft.
