Robi-Axiata boasts impressive 2023 profit surge

Robi-Axiata Ltd, Bangladesh’s second-largest mobile operator, saw a 75% profit surge in 2023, reaching Tk 3.21 billion.

According to a press release, the company’s earnings per share rose from Tk 0.35 to Tk 0.61 in 2023.

Total revenue hit Tk 99.42 billion, marking a 15.79% increase from the previous year.

By the end of 2023, total capital expenditure reached Tk 19.03 billion, covering asset acquisition, upgrades, and maintenance.

Earnings before income tax, depreciation, and amortization stood at Tk 45.99 billion in 2023, the telecom operator reported.

Data service revenue spiked by 28.2% compared to 2022, while voice revenue increased by 9%.

Robi’s board recommended a 10% cash dividend, equal to 165.6% of the profit after tax for 2023.

The company attracted 43 lakh new subscribers in 2023, expanding its subscriber base to 58.7 million, representing 31% of the nation’s total mobile subscribers.
