Japanese automaker Mitsubishi has officially launched its latest sport utility vehicle (SUV), the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, in Bangladesh.
The vehicle was unveiled today at Mitsubishi Motors Bangladesh’s showroom in Tejgaon, Dhaka. It has features designed to cater specifically to the country’s weather and road conditions.
The Outlander Sport offers advanced driving capabilities, featuring four specialized driving modes that enhance the SUV’s performance across various terrains. Its interior has an 8-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The system also includes built-in navigation, adding to the vehicle’s technological offerings.
Regarding safety, the Outlander Sport is outfitted with six SRS airbags, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution, and active stability control. The vehicle boasts advanced features like blind spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert technology. Its active yaw control system enhances performance on slippery roads, while a tyre pressure monitoring system ensures optimal driving safety.
Additionally, it comes with multiple charging ports, a wireless charger, an electronic parking brake, parking sensors, and a rearview camera for added convenience.
The vehicle’s design features distinctive “T”-shaped headlights and rear combination lights. It measures 4,390 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, with a ground clearance of 222 mm, making it well-suited for Bangladesh’s varied road conditions.
Powered by a 1,499 cc, 4-cylinder, DOHC 16-valve 1.5L MIVEC engine, the Outlander Sport is paired with a CVT (F-1-CWA) transmission and fitted with 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels. The SUV delivers a balance of performance and style. It is available in six exterior colors, giving customers a range of aesthetic options.
The Outlander Sport comes with a five-year warranty and three free servicing sessions, which, according to Mohammad Hamdur Rahman Simon, CEO of RANGS Ltd., is expected to impact the market significantly. The vehicle assembled in Indonesia is priced at Tk 4.95 million.
