Saudi Arabian company DataVolt has revealed plans to establish a $100 million data center in Bangladesh’s Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City (BHTC) in Gazipur, located on the outskirts of Dhaka.
The announcement was made during a meeting between DataVolt’s Chief Strategy Officer, Ayad Al Amri and Bangladesh’s State Minister for ICT, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, at a city hotel.
The Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) has committed to providing the company with an initial three-acre plot of land within the high-tech city for the construction of a state-of-the-art data center.
During the meeting, Minister Palak emphasized the government’s investment incentives and highlighted the potential of the BHTC.
The event was attended by BHTPA Managing Director GSM Jafarullah and other officials from both BHTPA and DataVolt.
