The Kingdom of Bhutan has announced a significant reduction in the Sustainable Development Fees (SDF) for Bangladeshi tourists, lowering the fee from $100 to $15 per person per night.
The Bhutanese Department of Tourism communicated this decision as per a notification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Bangladesh.
The reduced fee aligns with the rate previously enjoyed by Indian tourists, who have been benefiting from a similar reduction. Under the new policy, up to 15,000 Bangladeshi tourists can visit Bhutan annually at the reduced SDF rate of $15 per night.
This new visa policy came into effect on June 2, 2024. The reduced fees are expected to make Bhutan a more accessible travel destination for Bangladeshi tourists.
