Bangladesh’s Ready-Made Garment (RMG) exports reached $38.48 billion in 2024, with the European Union, with $19.37 billion and 50.34% of the total share, dominating the market.
The United States accounted for $7.2 billion or 18.72%, while the UK contributed $4.3 billion, representing 11.25%. Germany led with $4.83 billion within the EU, followed by Spain at $3.42 billion and France with $2.14 billion. Canada imported $1.24 billion, comprising 3.23% of the total.
Non-traditional markets saw a notable rise, contributing $6.33 billion, or 16.46% of exports. Japan led with $1.12 billion, followed by Australia at $831 million, India at $606 million, Turkey at $426 million, and Russia at $343 million. Mohiuddin Rubel, former BGMEA director, highlighted that market diversification enhances the sector’s global reach and resilience.
