Bangladesh Bank (BB) has set new fees and charges for card transactions across ATMs, Point of Sale (POS), Internet Banking Fund Transfer (IBFT), Bangla QR, e-commerce, and government invoices, as per a circular issued on Thursday.
Under the National Payment Switch Bangladesh (NPSB), banks can charge up to Tk 30 for cash withdrawals from ATMs of other banks, inclusive of VAT. Customers will be charged Tk 5 for balance inquiries, Tk 5 for small statements, and Tk 10 for fund transfers.
For ATM withdrawals from other banks, the first five transactions each month will incur the previous fee of Tk 15.
However, customers can withdraw a maximum of Tk 20,000 per transaction. Exceeding this limit or using an ATM more than five times a month will result in double the fee.
Additionally, charges for online income tax payments have been introduced. Payments up to Tk 25,000 via cards or internet banking will incur a maximum fee of Tk 20, while payments exceeding this amount will have a maximum fee of Tk 50.
Transactions made through Mobile Financial Services (MFS) or Payment Service Providers (PSP) will be charged 1% of the transaction amount or Tk 30, whichever is lower.
The circular aims to standardize transaction costs and enhance the efficiency of digital banking services in Bangladesh.
