Apple’s upcoming budget-friendly iPhone SE, rumored to launch in early 2025, may include a major upgrade that could reshape the affordable smartphone market.
According to a recent report by Apple analyst Mark Gurman on Bloomberg News, the new iPhone SE could be equipped with Apple Intelligence, the company’s signature on-device AI suite. So far, it has been exclusive to the high-end iPhone 15 Pro models.
Gurman suggests that while Apple’s next flagship lineup, the iPhone 16 and its Pro and Max versions, is expected to be announced around September 2024, the release of the new iPhone SE would mark the first update to the SE series since 2022. This new addition to Apple’s budget lineup could look similar to the iPhone 14, featuring an OLED display that spans the entire device.
The potential inclusion of Apple Intelligence in the iPhone SE could significantly narrow the gap between budget and premium smartphones. This AI suite, previously only available on premium models, could bring advanced features to a wider audience, making the SE a highly attractive option for consumers who desire cutting-edge technology without the premium price tag.
