50 thousand digital service centers coming to rural Bangladesh

digital service centers

Aspire to Innovate (a2i), a government program and private firm Sublime Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish 50,000 digital service centers across the country.

These centers will provide much-needed access to government services for underserved communities. Think applying for birth certificates, paying bills, or registering for travel – all digitally and conveniently.

The project will be rolled out in phases, involving local entrepreneurs through a public-private partnership. Sublime will oversee the centers, with technical support from a2i.

This initiative builds on the existing network of 9,397 digital centers established by the government in 2020. Currently, these centers offer over 385 government services, empowering citizens across the country.

The new centers will significantly expand this reach, bringing the benefits of digital services to even more remote areas. This is expected to boost accessibility, efficiency, and transparency in government service delivery for rural citizens.
