In a recent move, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission ((BTRC) has taken strict action against 14 internet service providers (ISPs) for their failure to renew their licenses within the due time.
According to official documents from the BTRC, the regulatory body has directed these ISPs to submit their licenses to the commission within a strict 10-day window.
The ISPs affected by this situation are Bornil Network System Ltd, IT Next Technology, Cyber Communication, New Generation Internet Services Ltd, Asian City Online (BD) Ltd, Apon Enterprise, Sparking World Reign ICT, Segun Bagicha Safenet Online, Speed Online, Vestel Cable Tv Networks Ltd, Web Solution, Chandpur Net, and Airnet Communication.
In a decisive move, the regulator has categorically deemed all operations of these ISPs as not only unauthorized but also subject to punitive measures as per the Bangladesh Telecommunication Act of 2001.
The telecom regulator has issued a stern warning to all parties involved, cautioning against entering into any agreements or engaging in financial transactions with these blacklisted ISPs.
The BTRC’s actions underscore the importance of adhering to regulatory guidelines within the telecommunications sector. Timely license renewal is crucial not only for the providers but also for ensuring the delivery of reliable and legal internet services to consumers.
